On Saturday 17th June the Falmouth RNLI will be holding its Lifeboat Day to celebrate the stations 150th anniversary.
The event is being held at the Lifeboat Station adjacent to Falmouth Docks (TR11 3XZ) between 10am and 4pm. It will a fun packed day and includes the opportunity to view and explore the stations current lifeboats along with a fleet of ten old lifeboats. There will be demonstrations by the lifeboats, lifeguards and the coastguard cliff rescue team throughout the day with both the Lizard Lifeboat and the Coastguard Helicopter making appearances during the afternoon. On the shore there will plenty to see including displays of the equipment used by our maritime emergency services, a display of model lifeboats, information and advice from the Community Safety Team along with a hard-hat diving display. The event is free and there will be a free ferry service running from Prince of Wales Pier to the Lifeboat Station throughout the day. The lifeboat day is being supported by cottages.com, A&P Falmouth and Port Pendennis Marina plus many other local businesses.
